Condition: Good - COMPLETE with the "pop-up". The cover has considerable wear, inevitably (due to the binding technique with rusting staples) some pages loose. With previous owner's entry, dated '1/4-34'.

Dutch translation of Anatomy and Physiology of the Female Generative Organs and of Pregnancy (1897); a publication on female sexuality and pregnancy. Illustrated with black and white drawings and a folding plate (the female genitals in 15 parts), executed in colour lithography. Hardback edition.

¶ The first Dutch edition of this authoritative treatise by the English gynecologist Arthur Edward Giles (1864-1935) appeared in 1912. According to WorldCat, there were 19 editions in English and Dutch, issued between 1897 and 1942. The fold-out plate is not a real pop-up up but this can be called a 'movable book'.
