¶ Visser was regionally known as a 'begging poet' in the 2000s; he sold thousands of his collections ('throwaway poetry') by offering them on the street for "whatever people were willing to pay for them". In 2019, the ex-poet was admitted to a psychiatric institution. His poetry, in his own words, has indeed been thrown away.
