Book Week
Since 1932 (with a predecessor in 1930) the Dutch bookshops distribute a free booklet as a gift (called 'Boekenweekgeschenk' ; Book Week Gift) to bookbuyers, during the 'Boekenweek', an annual 'week' of ten days, dedicated to Literature. These gift booklets are collected, as well as the related items such as programs for the Boekenbal (Book Ball), posters, signed copies and foremost the special hardcover editions of the gifts that were printed only for friends and business relations of the author and publisher.
