A small monograph on the first edition of the novel De Avonden (1947); in fact a book-historical complete anatomy of everything that has to do with this popular 'editio princeps'; enumeration of pre-publications, physical appearance, design by Ies Spreekmeester, circulation, reviews by fellow writers, etc.

¶ The first edition of 'The first edition' appeared on July 11, 2024; the same month the second IMPROVED edition was already imposed. The improvement consists of adding in the colophon that the booklet was provided with a cahier stitch by De Matenaaiers in The Hague.
