Vintage 1960s large format magazine with reports on media, television, showbiz, films, comics, cartoons, humor, politics, sports, cars, etc. Illustrated in colour and black and white (also nostalgic advertisements). Including crossword puzzles, columns and Lucky Luke comic strip ''Prikkeldraad in de prairie'.
Nieuwe Revu was a continuation of Revu (formerly Revue) and Katholieke Illustratie. Number one (with illustrator Els Franken on the cover) was released on October 26, 1968 as No. 43 of the current volume of Revu. The new magazine was announced in the last issue of Revu (No. 42; Oct 19, 1968). This number is included in this lot.
¶ These first 10 issues of October / November / December 1968 contain articles about / by i.a. illustrator Jan Sanders, Jazz pianist Louis van Dijk, football players Pelé and Franz Beckenbauer, James Bond 007, advertisement for Heineken beer, Wolmerk carpet, Remington design razors and alarm clocks, Fortis watches, Stanley tools, Philips colour television, car test of (the now modern oldtimers) Fiat 850, Triumph TR5 pi, and (fold-out) poster of the Dutch National Team (with Johan Cruijff) and the football club ADO Den Haag [The Hague]. This collection could also serve well as a "RETRO READING FOLDER" on a reading table (for example in a top notch barbershop?).
