Book Week gift 1958. Novella, which was submitted a year earlier, by the Dutch writer / director August Defresne (1893-1961). Illustrated with black and white drawings by H.P. Doebele, who also provided the typography and designed the book cover. Cf. De Bakker p. [30]; Blom p.67.
¶ The second gift that was bound in 'Fabroleen' by Proost and Brandt. Circulation: 150,000 copies. The booklet was given away free with the purchase of Fl 5,- worth of books. A competition form, to guess seven previous authors' names, was enclosed separately (a competition card that is often missing).
