In addition to his painting, Lee-Johnson was also a freelance photographer who documented the daily lives of New Zealanders from the early 1950s through the 1970s. His photographs were as well known as his paintings - including images of 'Opo the dolphin'.
¶ This copy comes from the library of the Arnhem painter Willem van Manen with his signature, stamp and label on the endpaper, next to Elizabeth Lee-Johnson's handwritten dedication. Added: newspaper clippings and a number of handwritten postcards from Elizabeth to Van Manen and his wife.
