Dutch translation, by J.J. Besançon, of the first part of 'My Life and Loves' (1922/1927); the autobiography of the Irish/American publisher Frank Harris (1855-1931). Hardback edition. Part of the series Erotische Klassieken uit de Wereldliteratuur. The first integral Dutch edition appeared complete in three parts in 1967.
¶ 'My Life and Loves', which is mainly set in the fin-de-siècle, was published privately by the author himself in the 1920s and in 1931 by Jack Kahane's Obelisk Press. It initially consisted of four parts. In 1954 a fifth part appeared, based on - allegedly - posthumous notes.
