¶ Pieter Jansz Post 'Architecte de Leurs Altesses les Princes d'Orange' became court architect of Stadtholder Frederik Hendrik and Amalia van Solms in 1645 and can be considered an important representative of Dutch classicism, together with Jacob van Campen, Philip Vingboons and Arent van 's-Gravesande. Pieter Post's designs were copied throughout Europe.
