File of the court case (actually held on June 20, 2007) against Jörgen Hofmeester, the main character in Arnon Grunberg's novel Tirza (2006).
Consisting of: 1. mr. Jouke E.R. Osinga (Public Prosecutor), Het requisitoir (the indictment); 2. mr. Gerard Spong (Attorney), Het pleidooi; 3. Mr. Karina M.E. de Koning (President of the Court), Het vonnis; 4. Verantwoording; 5. Transparent envelope with documentation, facsimiles of newspaper clippings, a court drawing by Felix Guérain, a copy of a manual for a Stihl MS 170 chainsaw and a memorial card for Tirza by Arnon Grunberg.
The quires were hand-set from 12 point Lutetia by De Uitvreter [= Kees Thomassen] at 't Harkel in Woold and printed on 145 grams Zerkall-Bütten halbmatt white paper. Concept, editing and realization: Eddy Esman.
¶ The whole project is kept in a half-linen portfolio folder that is contained in a linen box. Edition: 144 copies, of which 120 for trade (numbered 1 to 120) and 24 for employees and publisher (numbered I to XXIV). The requisitoir and the verdict are SIGNED by the prosecutor and the judge. Mr. Spong would also sign his plea, but this never happened.
