Condition: Our copy - vulnerable due to its impressive size - has survived the century reasonably well. It has been repaired at some point; the back strip is glued again and the hinges on the inside are reinforced with linen.
Antiquarian picture book with Dutch adaptation of Der kleine König (1909) by Fritz Freiherr von Ostini (1861-1927). Illustrated with 12 tipped-in Jugendstil colour plates by the Viennese artist Hanns Pellar (1886-1971), a student of Franz von Stuck (and inspired by Gustav Klimt and the Wiener Secession).
¶ This enormous coffee table book was printed by the company "De Nieuwe Tijd" on thick handmade paperwork supplied by the firm Gerhard Loeber. Hardback first edition in a decorated large-format binding by Elias P. van Bommel in Amsterdam.
