Lodewijk van Deyssel - [Original handwritten postcard] - Haarlem - 1926 – Postcard - 14 x 9 cm.

Condition: Good - SIGNED and dated '30.1.'26'.

Card with handwriting of the famous 'Tachtiger' Lodewijk van Deyssel, signed with his real name K.J.L. Alberdingk Thijm, addressed to Den Heer L.A. Dieleman from Terneuzen (spelled Ter Neuzen). The postal item has been sent. With postmark. The backside is blank.

The 5 lines of text, without salutation, show that Mr Dieleman was apparently a signature hunter. The writer pleased him with this postcard (reverse side blank). Reply to fanmail!

¶ Karel Joan Lodewijk Alberdingk Thijm (1864-1952), mainly operating under his pseudonym, belonged, together with Willem Kloos and Frederik van Eeden, in the 1880s to the Beweging van Tachtig (the Movement of Eighties, the Tachtigers). He was known for his razor-sharp and ironic criticisms, so-called "scheldkritieken" (=insults).
