¶ Wouda learned the trade from H.P. Berlage and Eduard Pfeijffer. He worked for the company Pander in The Hague and the L.O.V. in Oosterbeek, His furniture is characterized by cubic shapes. He designed, among other things, the interior of the villa 'Sevensteyn' designed by Dudok. Later he also made interiors for ships.

This edition appeared at the same time as an exhibition on the work of Hendrik Wouda in the Centraal Museum in Utrecht from 15 September to 29 October 1989. The book includes a separate 'List of exhibited works' (stapled wrappers, 12 pp).
