Harry Fragson [i.a.] - Si tu veux...Marguerite [Convolute with Art Nouveau sheet music of French Chansons] - Paris / [etc] - A. Bosc / [etc] - [ca 1900] - 1st edition - Half cloth binding with postcard pasted on frontcover - 17,5 x 26,5 cm.
Condition: Fragile - binding with wear, some pages loose. UNIQUE ITEM.
Private collection with mainly French chansons from the fin-de-siècle and sporadically a Dutch song. Also includes some 'Deutsche Lieder' in HANDWRITING. Beautiful Art Nouveau design of the covers by, among others, Armengol and Léon Pousthomis (1881-1916; killed at the Battle of Verdun during the First World War).
¶ With songs by, among others, Pierre Chapelle (Le plus Joli Rêve), Georges Millandy & Joseph Rico (Pardon...), Danerty & Géo Charley (La valse des ombres) and Irving Berlin (C'est pour vous). The latter together with the unfortunate chansonier of English descent Harry Fragson (1869-1913). Like Marvin Gaye, he was killed by his (mentally ill) father.
