Antique, three-volume standard work with an overview of the 19th century state of affairs in the field of physics experiments and technical knowledge. Illustrated with many black and white prints (wood engravings) and a lithograph in COLOUR. With table of contents / index. Text in Dutch. A kind of precursor to Minnaert's Natuurkunde van het Vrije Veld.

This complete set was re-bound sometime in (the midst of) the 20th century by D.J. Bax, bookbinder in Helmond (with his stamp on the paste-down) in three uniform cloth bindings with 'snake leather' effect. Neat, solid copies, attractive as a whole. This must have been a dream for Victorian nerds, geeks and engineers.
