Complete volume of the Wartime information periodical of the American army, especially for the population of (the liberated parts of) the Netherlands. Illustrated with photos and reproductions in black and white (and sometimes colour). The last episode was a double issue (29/30). Bound in publisher's cloth with gilt lettering.
¶ Documentation of the last year of the war and articles about the American culture and showbiz world with which the Dutch population could already become acquainted. The magazine appeared once every two weeks and would exist "until the free Dutch press can take over this task."
Articles dealing with i.a. KLM, Joris Ivens in the Dutch East Indies, racing pigeons, general Dwight D. Eisenhower, a special about the JEEP, Walt Disney (the film Fantasia and Donald Duck explains about plastic), football, aerial photography, Hamburg, the French resistance (Maquisards), Belgian pilots in the RAF, the Eastern Front, the fall of Berlin, the death of Adolf Hitler, camps in Burma, the battle for Okinawa, Iwo Jima and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
