Two vintage 1950s issues of the Tintin & Snowy comics. These are the two parts about the moon journey of Tintin, Captain Haddock and Jansen & Janssen with the famous red and white checkered rocket of Professor Calculus. Illustrated in COLOUR. Text in Dutch.

Cf. Matla KUIFJ 1.15 and 1.16. It is extremely complicated to determine which printing of the first hardback edition this is. In any case, these are very early reprints that can be identified as Ottens A56I (16) and A56II (17). Both with dark blue endpapers.

¶ These two albums come from the library of master bookbinder Hans Zegveld from Nijmegen. Mannen op de maan has considerable wear and owners entry (from Hans) but can certainly be called collectable. Raket naar de maan is damaged; part of the spine is missing. [At an additional cost and in consultation, this can be restored].
