Condition: Good - the cover with wear and tears.

Old 1930s guide with alternative medical advice for all kinds of diseases and disorders, treatable with products from the author himself. Illustrated with colour plates (anatomical diagrams, plants, mushrooms). With table of contents and index. Text in Dutch.

The booklet is undated, but NCC gives 1936 as the year (available in the UB Utrecht). Octave Dubois was the "Doctor Vogel of the 19th century". The preface warns against "vervalschingen van onze preparaten" [= "falsifications of our preparations"].  Even the guide itself was apparently abused by scammers who wanted to get a piece of the pie:

"NOTA: Het is verboden in dit boek eenige prospectus of advertentie in te lasschen. Het publiek gelieve geen aandacht te schenken aan die dingen, in geval zij toch in het boek mochten voorkomen."

¶ Contains, among other things, (dubious) advice on hemorrhoids, sneezing and pustules. As a remedy Absynth tea is useful, and on the subject of Onanismus we read: "Masturbatie - De geheime gewoonten in beide geslachten zijn een oorzaak van verzwakking en de bron van ernstige ziekten, als de ontstekingen van het ruggemerg en van de hersenen, de hysteria, de krankzinnigheid [sic]."
