Children's book by To Hölscher (1898-1953) about the holidays of a Dutch family from the East Indies (Java) in Holland. Illustrated with black and white drawings (and cover in colour) by Jo Bijvoet (1909-1979). In the back advertising for other Hölscher titles. Cf. Buur #0632.
¶ Cover and interior with rust spots; the front cover has been scratched with a pencil by a child's hand. Traditional bookbinder Hans Zegveld from Nijmegen has restored our copy and replaced the spine with suitable linen.
