Jan van Munster - Licht Donker - Arnhem - Stichting PlaatsMaken - Oktober 1987 - 1e druk - [16] pp - Softcover - 10,5 x 14,5 cm.
Condition: Good.
Small format minimalist artist's book by the Dutch sculptor, installation- and light artist Jan Nicolaas van Munster (1939-). 250 Cent Reeks 20. Edition (estimate): approx. 200 copies.
Interesting multiple. (NCC: a copy is kept in the Rijksmuseum). Both the cover and the interior are made of black paper. Apart from the colophon and the title (which are printed 'ton sur ton' in black) there is no text. From the cover to the last page, a round hole has been punched out and when the flap of the back cover is unfolded, the booklet can stand upright (like a kind of diorama).
¶ In 2002 Van Munster received the Wilhelminaring, the oeuvre prize for sculpture. [transl.] "My works are about energies and opposites: light and dark, warm and cold, hate and love, attraction and repulsion, noise and silence." - in Beeldentuin Kröller-Müller Museum (2007).
