A bilingual book about the work of the Groningen Ploeg artist Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman (1882-1945) and two portfolios with a total of 20 reproductions of the 'druksels' [prints] for the Hasidic Legends (1941/1943) in COLOUR. All housed in a black linen folder.
Some of the sketches in the textbook appeared here for the first time in print. Text in Dutch and English.
¶ H.N. Werkman was an expressionist book printer who produced various anti-German publications during the Second World War under the name De Blauwe Schuit. Three days before the liberation of the Northern Netherlands, he was shot with nine others in the woods near Bakkeveen.
