Dutch translation (by Denise in 't Veld) of 'The Memoirs of an Erotic Bookseller' (1969); a novel written under a pseudonym by the antiquarian erotica specialist Nick Schors (1925-2014). This first standalone volume is all that has been published.
The book describes the adventures of a shrewd Erotica dealer and his eccentric suppliers and customers in the 1950s and 1960s. The bibliographical facts make it mandatory reading for collectors of erotica.
With suggestive cover by Karel Beunis and J. Cursto [Jaap Jungcurt]; the cut-and-paste work appears to show naked bodies, but is in fact very chaste. Between 1969 and 1972 at least 8 titles appeared in the unnamed 'Erotische Reeks'. Cf. Verzameld Werk Catalogus 7 (1988) ErR 102.
¶ This is the preferred second Dutch edition which, unlike the first edition, was ILLUSTRATED with reproductions in black and white and COLOUR (including title pages and work by Félicien Rops).
