Antique religious collection of poems on the theme of messengers of God. Including the title page illustrated with 32 chromolithographs (lithography in COLOUR) with scenes of ANGELS, idyllic landscapes, birds and flowers. Text in German.

¶ Bound in a beautiful 19th century binding with early Art Nouveau influences. Gilded decoration and gilt edges. A completely forgotten gem with verses by, among others, L. Uhland, B. Garve, A. Formey, H. Walter, Tersteegen, E. Ritterhaus, J.G. Seidl, K. Bartsch, Gellert, Joh. Trojan, J. Sturm, Ch. Böhmer and Eduard Möricke. Not in WorldCat.

NOTE: This copy is in excellent external condition. But unfortunately, 10 pictures in the interior suffered damage because the pages stuck together (due to the ink?) and were detached by a less careful hand. What remains of intact prints, however, is certainly EYE CANDY.
