¶ The images are a selection from the 600,000 devotional pictures from the collection that the author, Frans Pluijmaekers (1945-), has brought together since 1966. In addition to this book, he published two other overview works on this subject; 'Prentjes uit de rijke Rooms Katholieke cultuur' (2011) and 'Beeldverslag van het rooms-katholieke erfgoed' (2015).
