Advertisements for other publications on the cover (including the 'Gereformeerde Scheurkalender' for 1882). Selling price was 15 cents.

¶ In the night of December 29 to 30, 1880, the Nieuwkuijkse Heidijk broke through and the water raged through the village with devastating force. Subsequently, more than forty villages were flooded. "At the breach, 16,000 hectares of land were covered by water, with a population of 30,000." -p. 7.
