Jan Cremer & Hans Sleutelaar [ed.] - Jan Cremer Krant [Eerste jaargang, Nr. 1]. Alles onthullend! Niets verzwijgend!! - Rotterdam - [Self-published] - maart 1967 - 1st edition - [8] pp - Newspaper - 31 x 44 cm.
Condition: Good - some wear and browning. Folded twice.
The first episode of the 'Jan Cremerkrant', produced by Hitweek maker Willem de Ridder (1939-2022). Illustrated with black and white photos. The retail price was 50 cents. On the back a 'Jan Cremer strip' (in red, white and blue) by Theo van den Boogaard based on a script by JC. Cf. Dütting p. 146-147; Jan Cremer in beeld p. 132.
¶ A second episode did not appear until 1977. Until 1999, 10 issues were released. This issue includes a letter from Gerard Reve in facsimile and selfies from JC with Jayne Mansfield, Loesje Hamel and Nico from the Velvet Underground. At the back is an insulting article ('onze zwarte pagina') about Dutch writer Cees Nooteboom and singer Liesbeth List.
That was also the reason why the police confiscated almost the entire edition of 25,000 copies an hour after presentation. However, more than 1,000 copies had already been sold before the seizure, making this newspaper both the best-selling and the fastest-banned magazine in the history of Dutch magazines.
