¶ Valley Curtain was an environmental artwork in which a huge orange curtain of fabric was hung over a mountainous stretch of Colorado State Highway 325. The work was constructed twice but both times it was quickly destroyed by the wind. This was Christo's most expensive project to date, and the first to involve construction workers.
David and Albert Maysles' documentary of the project was nominated for best short documentary at the 1974 Academy Awards.
