Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait photograph in black and white (by Navana; a young Gandhi "wearing the badge of the English Vegetarian Society"). At the back a list of other Gandhi titles. ¶ Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a witness at the 1905 wedding in South Africa of his Jewish 'soulmates' Millie Graham Down and Henry Polak (1882-1959) and, according to some juicy sources, he had an affair with Millie, who describes her first meeting with him as follows:
"[he had] the kindest eyes in the world, that seemed to light up from within when he spoke. [...] His voice was soft, rather musical, and almost boyishly fresh".
