C.F.Ph.D. van der Vecht - De Steenen Spreken. De goddelijke boodschap der Groote Pyramide. Bewerkt naar The Great Pyramid Its Divine Message [...] by D. Davidson and H. Aldersmith [...] - Den Haag - W.P. van Stockum & Zoon N.V. - 1936 - 1st edition - [10],500 pp - Cloth binding - 20,5 x 27,5 cm.
Condition: Good - one map somewhat frayed and a fold-out plate with a tear. The book has a (pleasant) incense scent. Added is a 1930s textile bookmark (with an embroidered OWL).
An esoteric argument in which the author wants to demonstrate that a code has been built into the Pyramid of Giza for all kinds of values (such as the speed of light) and dates. Illustrated with black and white photos, reproductions and fold-out diagrams and maps. With table of contents, references to Bible texts, bibliography and index.
Noteworthy is a diagram (on p. 323 and 336) that gives the date September 17, 2001; the day the Wall Street stock exchange reopened, after the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001 (9/11) on the World Trade Center in New York. Furthermore, the book discusses the Book of Enoch, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, Isis, Osiris, Horus, Melchizedek, Noah, the Flood, STONEHENGE and Jesus Christ.
¶ The theory is based on the work of Charles Piazzi Smyth (1819-1900) and Sir William Flinders Petrie (1853-1942). Carel Frederik Philip Diederik van der Vecht (1885-1960) was a retired Major of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army. Reprints appeared in 1939, 1940, 1941, 1949 and (the last, sixth edition) in 1950. An abridged version appeared under the title 'Het "teeken" in Egypteland' (1937). This is the hardback FIRST EDITION.
