Bibliophile collection of poems; the debut of Halbo Christiaan Kool (1907-1968). Edition: 200 copies, printed by Boosten & Stols in Maastricht (the cover in red and black). Typography possibly by Jan van Krimpen (1892-1958). Not in Sierman / Van Faassen.

This copy was provided by the author with a handwritten dedication in French, to his 'Professeur Mr. C. Sneyders de Vogel' (1876-1958).

¶ Kool was the model for the character Arend Wortel in Gerard Reve's De Avonden (1947). He translated Georges Simenon and '1984' by George Orwell. He was the biological father of cannabis activist Koos Zwart (1947-2014). He committed suicide in May 1968.
