¶ Maarten (or Marten) van Rossum (Zaltbommel, ca.1478 – Antwerp, 7 June 1555) was one of the most feared and successful Gelderland generals of the 16th century. In the service of Karel van Gelre and Willem V van Kleef, he conquered Arnhem and Rhenen by stratagems. The Maarten van Rossumhuis can still be visited in his hometown.
