The three-part 'magnum opus' by Jan Cremer (1940-2024); Oorlog, Vrede, en Bevrijding; situated around Enschede, during and after the Second World War. "An epic about the Hungarians, Poles, Ukrainians and Gypsies and the Twente industry". Author photo: Kippa.
¶ 'De Hunnen' was presented on February 22, 1984 in the l'Entree restaurant. According to the strictly personal invitation card, evening clothes were required. Expectations for this book were high. Perhaps that is why the reviews were harsh (A. Moonen bluntly called it "a shitty book" in Propria Cures).
This copy was SIGNED and dedicated by Jan Cremer during the presentation. Then it apparently ended up UNREAD on the bookcase. The cassette has some wear but the books are AS NEW.
