Black woolen doublebreasted overcoat with brass buttons with anchor motif. It can be assumed that these buttons were custom-made by or on behalf of the previous owner, the Dutch writer / artist Jan Cremer (1940-2024), who wrote his name on the inside of one of the two jacket pockets.
¶ Included is a paper bag with blank buttons and the text 'Jan Cremer Marinejas 1957 + 8 civiele [=civilian] buttons', applied with black felt-tip pen. An Art Unlimited postcard is also supplied depicting the 'cupcakes portrait photo' that was taken by photographer Wim van der Linden (1941-2001), on which the author of Ik jan Cremer (1964) poses with this coat on and with two breast-shaped cream cakes in front of him.
