Antique manual from the 1920s for gymnastics, specifically focused on women's anatomy, by the physician Herman Reys (1883-1948). Illustrated with black and white photos and a drawing of the human skeleton. Hardcover edition.
¶ There was also a volume for men and a volume aimed at children's gymnastics. Herman's third given name was Olympius, a reference to the ideals of Pierre de Coubertin (the initiator of the modern Olympic Games). Reys is considered the founder of sports medicine in the Netherlands and of the 'Kweekschool' in The Hague.
