Monograph of the French-Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely (1906-1997). Illustrated in COLOUR. This is probably a French set (but could also be English). HARDBACK EDITION.

¶ Vasarely, born Győző Csiszár, later took the name Győző Vásárhelyi. He studied with Sándor Bortnyik, influenced by the Bauhaus. From 1930 he worked in Paris as a decorator and advertising artist. In the 1960s he became one of the leading figures of geometric abstract painting, also called op art (from: optical art).
