¶ Cf. Wolters #970; Huygen p. 242. Edwin Parker Twombly Jr. took painting lessons at the age of twelve from the Spanish painter Pierre Daura, a former student of Pablo Picasso. He often used written text in his paintings and thus became an example for later graffiti artists, such as Jean-Michel Basquiat.
