Catalogue of an exhibition about (and designed by) the French FLUXUS artist / director / sculptor Robert Filliou (1926-1987). Illustrated with black and white photos and reproductions. Text in English and Dutch. Katalogus no. 512.

In the 1950s Filliou was part of the Fluxus group around Dieter Roth, Daniel Spoerri and Ben Vautier. It was he who proposed the Birthday of Art in 1963. He suggested that art did not exist 1,000,000 years ago. But one day, January 17 to be precise, Art was born. Filliou says it happened when someone dropped a dry sponge into a bucket of water.
