Condition: Good - SIGNED in 1981 with dedication "for Hans" and red stamp by the artist. Hans himself also put his own name on the title page (small, at the top in the corner).

Collection of socially critical cartoons by the Dutch illustrator Stefan Verwey (1946-2024); previously published in the daily newspaper De Volkskrant (1978,1979,1980). Illustrated in black and white.

¶ The great thing about these cartoons is that they convey the message without any text. The themes are still relevant: loneliness among the elderly, nonconformism, bourgeoisness, Sinterklaas, the hypocrisy of the Olympic Games and the road to an authoritarian society in the style of Orwell's 1984.
