¶ The first edition of Tim Krabbé's best-known and most successful crime novel does not come on the market very often. According to Wikipedia, it is the most read book in upper secondary school havo/vwo. The book was filmed in 1988 under the title Spoorloos with Johanna ter Steege. In 1993 followed an American remake (The Vanishing) with Sandra Bullock.
