Book Week gift 1941 contains contributions from Bertus Aafjes, A. Marja, Gerard den Brabander, Gerrit Achterberg, Pierre Kemp, M. Vasalis, Anna Blaman, Maurits Mok and Max Dendermonde. For the first time the gift stated: 'Aangeboden door uw boekhandelaar'. Cf. De Bakker p. [16].

¶ By order of the Sicherheitspolizei the book had to be taken off the market (probably because compiler Victor E. van Vriesland was 'not Aryan' and Clara Eggink's contribution was directed against the German occupier). Of the circulation of 67,000 copies, 45,000 were destroyed. No more gifts were issued for the rest of the Second World War.
