Condition: Good - slightly creased, small tear. Note in ballpoint pen on the back: 'Den Haag' (crossed out) and 'Arnhem'.

Original black and white photo of the facade of the monumental building at Jansstraat 28 in Arnhem. From 1964 to 2012, the Arnhem branch of Boekhandel De Slegte was located here. Around 1965, the store space was still shared with the toy store of the Wolthuis company.

¶ The maker of the photo is unknown, but since De Booys' (1898-2003) photo shop was across the street, it is likely that De Slegte commissioned him to take this promotional photo. The building burned to the ground during the night of March 5-6, 2025.
